Me and Bjork, Bjork and me…
Well I think the first time I heard about her I was still back home at the Motherland and saw Human Behavior music video on MTV. Damn I miss that channel and that time of my life… so much music and fun times that influenced my whole style of growing up and feelings that designed who I am culturally even not understanding nothing what they sang about it.
Was always about the groove. And if felt right to my heart I would like that music.
Moving to US gave me the opportunity to see so many great concerts, bands that I would never imagine I would see and more than one time some of them, over 200 concerts already and keep counting…it’s probably the most fortune and worth time I spend my life at besides studying and developing my own crafts off course. Gimme so much inspiration and brightness when I get to feel that music, you know, when it really hits you, you feel no pain.
Back to Bjork… besides seeing her at that tour of Volta if I’m not mistaking at Roseland Ballroom where I got the album or at Virgin Megastore.
I fortunate twice bumped to her, once I saw her at 7am getting breakfast in Chelsea which I was really hangover and maybe she was coming back from a party I would judge by the way she was dressed, lol, I don’t think she would put those silver shoes, hot pink stockings and gold dress but being her, all is expected. We exchanges some interesting connections, couple words and admirable feelings, I guess some weirdos they understand each other when they spot each other…
Second time I was crossing the streets in SoHo, and this SUV stopped at the corner I looked up after I heard a knock on the window and there she was, smiling and calling my attention, we shared some waves and I guess we somehow we got a connection shared by smiles.
Thank you Bjork for being this amazing artist, a truly human behavior. 🫶🏽
